Ingredients
  • 1ea HamBone-in, spiral cut (I usually use a pretty large ham) pick the appropriate poundage, just make sure it fits in your slow cooker)
  • 1can PineappleCrushed in its own juice
  • 1 1/2cups Brown SugarGive or take, you will want to make sure you have a little more in case you want to addsome
  • 3tbsp MustardI enjoy a spicy mustard, so either Golden’s, a Stone ground mustard or something similar. I don’t think a plain yellow mustard would yield the same flavor results
  • 1/4cup Bourbon
  • 1/2tbsp HoneyI like to use organic wild flower honey, but really any honey should do the trick
Instructions
Part 1 – Making the Glaze
  1. In a small bowl, add 1/2 cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons mustard, and the 1/4 cup of bourbon. Stir until well mixed, then add the honey and stir again. I like to make sure the sugar is mixed well before adding the honey. If you taste it and find it needs more sweet, add some additional brown sugar 1 tablespoon at a time. Once completely mixed, set aside for later.
Part 2 – The Ham
  1. In the bottom of your slow cooker, use 1 cup of brown sugar to coat the bottom evenly. Place the ham directly on top of the brown sugar. I have done this with the ham on the side or with the ham upright, it doesn’t really make a difference. Cover the ham with about 1/2 of the glaze (if your ham is small you may use less glaze, depending on your tastes).
  2. Next use the contents of the can of pineapple a spread out on top of the ham; make sure you include the pineapple juice. Pout the remainder of the glaze on the ham and cover.
  3. Turn your slow cooker on low and let cook for 8 hours. The ham will end up with a lot of liquid but, it makes an incredibly flavorful, fall off the bone ham. Enjoy.
