Back in August, we decided to take Super B to Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California.  It's something we'd heard a little about for a long time, but never had any clue about, so we figured we'd give it a try.  Unlock Comic-Con, we weren't able to attend the entire event, so we only made it Saturday and Sunday.  While this meant we missed on all the great Star Wars activities the first day, it was really for the best, since the several weeks prior had included the complete Comic-Con (including Preview Night) and a trip to Europe for a…

Hamming it Up with Super B – Slow Cooker Ham

There are very few memories that I have that don't involve the kitchen.  It seems like everything with my family always involved food in one way shape or form, so it was only natural that the kitchen was the place to be.  So, now that I have a family of my own I am always so excited to be able to share "cooking" time with my son, hence the title of this post.  The first time we made this it was great fun; Super B, my son, very much enjoy measuring out the sugar, which just happens to be his…

Star Trek Movie Live

At #SDCC last year, we had the great pleasure of meeting Michael Giacchino (@M_Giacchino) and his wife. Actually, we were waiting to take photos at the #DragonAge booth and were very fortunate that his wife asked if we would take photos with them. Embarrassingly, I must admit to not recognizing Mr. Giacchino, which led to my very shocked "Wait, you're Michael Giacchino???" when he said something along the lines of, "I'm glad you like the new Star Trek movies; I wrote the music." (This was quickly followed my much gushing and me wishing I had brought his score sitting on…

Each year, we let our son pick what the family Halloween outfit will be. We use those costumes for Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland and also for our annual portraits with Resolusean Photography. In 2012, our two-year-old son wanted to be a "Knight in Shining Armor", so we went with a medieval theme. Thus, our photos below from Resolusean.

A couple years back, we saw some little dragon characters at Target and thought they were cute, so we picked up a couple. Fast forward several months, and our nephew was really into this game called Skylanders (Skylanders: Giants, to be precise), so Grandma bought our son Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure for Christmas. Since our son was only two at the time, he wasn't yet gaming on his own, so we would play the game together while he would be the Portal Master - the random swapping definitely got a little interesting at times (especially since he liked the most loathsome…

Halo: Combat Evolved

At #SDCC 2014, @Shannon and I (@Matthew) had the pleasure of catching one of the previews of Halo: The Master Chief Collection at the #Xbox Lounge. The graphics and audio updates seemed amazing, but what really connected with us was this being the ten-year anniversary for #Halo 2. That was the first game we played together and really represented finding a fun connection in our relationship. So, while this is Halo 2's anniversary, it also represents a decade of our time together. We've gone through three different Xbox 360's (one of those was caused by an angry Wii attacking from…
